Zu der künstlerischen Arbeit von Jiro Unno
I believe that Suiboku-ga(ink painting lends itself well to expressing the artist himself, both consciously and unconsciously. Suiboku-ga is averse to conceptual expression and has historically avoided verbalization. I have dared to verbalize and clarify the structure of this style. I believe that art is an ongoing questioning of the individual human condition.
The structure that Suiboku-ga has is practiced not only among the Japanese but also among many other ethnic groups, and I believe that now is the time to be aware of it.
